May I intern with the Corps Member Education Foundation?

Yes. If you are interested in interning with CMEF, please send a cover letter and resume to info@cmef.org.

PROGRAMS

How to Start a Program

Starting a program is easy. Once you have an idea, just click on the Start a Program link on our homepage under the CMEF logo in the top left-hand corner of your browser window. From this link, you will be asked a few questions that will better enable us to get things set up for you on our website. After you submit the information someone from the Corps Member Education Foundation will contact you for a follow up conversation. In most instances everything can be set up within one week of submitting your idea.Ready to start your program, click here.

Support Offered

CMEF provides Teach For America corps members and alumni with the resources necessary to initiate domestic and international programs and trips to increase educational opportunities for students in low-income communities. CMEF provides corps members the opportunity to fund-raise at a manageable pace, it provides project timelines, templates, and other tools that reduce the time necessary to plan co-curricular activities, and it provides crucial mentorship to allow programs to launch and thrive across the country. 

Does CMEF offer help with writing grants?

Yes. Our team can help you write grants. Please send a copy of the grant application and a link to relevant information about the grant to info@cmef.org and we will do our best to help you write and submit the grant application.

I am a Teach For America alumnus. May I start a program?

Definitely! One of CMEF’s goals is to encourage Teach For America alumni to stay connected with their placement regions and the national Teach For America movement. Even if you know you want to stay involved in the lives of your students, but do not know how, CMEF can help. We have lots of ideas and support to offer so you can stay connected. I was just accepted to Teach For America. May I start a program while I am still in school?

Of course! In fact, in many ways you will benefit from starting your program while you are still. That way, you can start raising money on behalf of your students and get a head start on making sure you achieve your big goals.

DONATIONS

How much of my donation will actually go to the program for which I am donating?

97% of your credit card donation will go directly to the program to which you direct your donation; 3% of credit card donations go to pay fees associated with credit card transactions. 100% of check donations go directly to the program to which you direct your donation.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. The Corps Member Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. All donations a fully tax deductible.

May I make a donation to the Corps Member Education Foundation by writing a check?

Yes. The Corps Member Education Foundation is happy to accept check donations. Please make the check payable to “CMEF” and please include the particular program for which you would like the money to be donated on the subject line and send it to:

May I receive a refund on my donation?

All donations are final and we are unable to refund donations. If you have a concern you would like to addressed by a “real” person, please feel to call 404-805-6974.
