- Program Name
- 7th & 8th Grade Trip to Washington D.C.
Marisa Simon
- Program Description
This year my students and I have been focusing on human rights issues. After watching my students' strong response to Elie Wiesel's memoir, Night, I was inspired to plan a trip to Washington D.C. to tour the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. While my students have been benefiting greatly from our classroom readings, activities, and discussions, I believe that a trip to our nation’s capital will ignite an even deeper love of learning.
While there is a strict academic and behavior requirement to participate in the trip, I will not let a lack of finances hold any students back. The all-inclusive cost to travel to D.C. by bus is $310.00 per student. My students and their parents are working very hard toward raising as much money as possible within our community, but we are in need of genorous outside donors like you! Please help us meet our goal of $15,000!
