We know from firsthand experience that when students in low-income communities are given the opportunity they can and will achieve at high levels in the classroom. However, we also know that the teaching profession requires a dedication that leaves little time to plan co-curricular activities, fund-raise for college scholarships, technology for the classroom, or field trips, and in general offer unique opportunities for students.
Since our inception in 2004, the Corps Member Education Foundation has grown over 400%. We have helped send students to Washington DC, Boston, New York, Spain, France, and Honduras. We have provided thousands of dollars in college scholarships and have provided many corps members a place to fundraise for leadership camps, to buy technology for the classroom, and much more.
